Kuf – Kufism Pt. 2

Kuf aka Marcus Pengermaa has built up an impressive catalogue, mainly on Arsenik, and Kufism Pt is testament to the project's individuality. Like previous releases, it demonstrates the Kuf project's expertise at teasing new shapes and sounds from the techno form. This is audible on the warbling synths and dusty vocals of "Control", with "Basic Dub" resounding to a similar sound. While the pacy, angular rhythms of "You've Fallen Down" and "Complex" are more in keeping with a conventional dance floor aesthetic, the latter is shot through with rave stabs and the former's minimal sound is made more hypnotic thanks to the use of repetitive vocal samples. All told, it's a worthy addition to the series.
