Alec Falconer ‎– The Boat EP

The fifth missive on Colin Chiddle's Art of Dark imprint comes courtesy of Alec Falconer, a producer who was last heard joining the dots between garage, tech-house and electro on Entity London. "Boaty Banger" is a deliciously retro-futurist affair that lives up to the promise of its title. Underpinned by crunchy, garage-influenced breakbeats and chunky bass, the track's stabbing riffs are reminiscent of early rave classic "Bombscare" by Two Bad Mice. Elsewhere on the EP, "FFFF" is a sub-heavy breakbeat roller peppered with warm deep house chords and occasional hip-house samples, while "Four" is a deep dive into two-step tech-house territory with added bowel-bothered sub-bass pressure.
