DJ Fary – Flux EP

DJ Fary is an Italian producer with strong ties to the Afro-Cosmic sound. He was first releasing his own productions on the Tribal Italia label in the mid 90s, and kept it up intermittently until 2007. Now Magic Carpet have picked up on his back catalogue and present two classic Fary tracks that should go down perfectly in these eclectic times. Originally released in '95 on the Expansion EP, 'Flux' is a trippy, low-slung breakbeat house jam with all the wiggy energy you want from a cosmic cut. 'Punjabi Fantasy', from 1997's Evolution Loop EP, rides a tough, funky beat you could imagine Soul II Soul jamming with, chopping up vocal samples and laying down ear-snagging synth riffs to get a baggy-limbed crowd wiggling in all the right ways.
