Pugilist ‎– Horizon

Having ended 2019 with must-check releases on Whities and Modern Hypnosis (the latter in cahoots with long-standing collaborator Mystik), Pugilist comes out swinging on his first outing of 2020, a Nous Klaer label debut that offers up three high grade workouts. While hypnotic opener "Horizon" is a fine chunk of warm, dubby, spaced-out broken techno, it's the sub-heavy intensity of the track that follows, "Shimmer", that hits home harder. Featuring throbbing, mind-altering bass tones, mutant electronics, ghostly tones and a tough, infectious rhythm, it's amongst his boldest and most mind-altering tracks to date. If that's not enough to set your heart racing, closing cut "Untitled" is a metallic, otherworldly techno beast.
