LA producer Yotam Avni stretches his capacity for depth and endurance on new Arts departure 'South Bend'. Opening with the punchy, looping grooves of 'Fix' then onto the titular 'South Bend', the Tel Aviv visionary evidently has a true ear for breathtaking space and dreamy sound design. Contemplative tones thus emerge on 'Subject', before landing in the layered improvisations of 'Galaxy Jazz'. Only a small part of Avni's extensive catalogue for the label, we're in hot, eager anticipation for what's left to come from him.
