Lisbon's Hayes Collective returns with another finely tuned four-tracker in HYS006, assembling a cross-section of artists drawn to stark, pressurised techno with dub in its ambrose bloodstream. Berlin's Introversion contributes 'Smithers', a bruiser of a track riding a clipped, militant groove, while Casual Treatment clocks in with 'Quarter To Twelve', whose gritty swing and submerged atmosphere recall the more caustic corners in Chain Reaction's gloomy lab. The B bombs further into the murk: Norway's Hurdslenk's 'Server' is all churn and echo, while veteran German minimalist Invexis, whose early 2000s output for Kanzleramt continues to turn and convert heads, drops 'Waterpipe', a track as slippery as it is heavy, a veritable waterslide of chuting mercurial weight.
