Vromo – Undertones

Amsterdam's Vromo is a reliable techno head with credits on a nice spread of cultured labels. Here he lands on the fledgling V35 out of the Netherlands and his fulsome sound is in fine fettle. 'Digitalized' is a muscular rhythm with slamming energy and weird gong sounds then 'Tamme' is more supple but no less driving and potent. There's an edginess to 'Syntax' with its wiggling synth motifs that keeps you looking over your shoulder and finally 'Undertones' shuts down with clanging hits and turbocharged beats that will twist any floor inside out. Super function but also well-formed tunes from Vromo.
