Markus Suckut – SCKT09.3 (Purple Vinyl)

Marcus Suckut is a bonafide techno titan and his own label backs that up as it approaches its 100th release. It might be true that you always know what you're going to get here but that doesn't mean it isn't always high-functioning techno. 'Metal' is a dubby and linear cut made from minimal components, then 'Pressure' gets even more paired back and deep with an eerie sense of tension pervading the whole groove. There is a little extra energy to 'Moving Walls' but it's still a heady roller and 'Concrete' then shuts down with a nice languid bassline and dub hits that echo to infinity.
