Regis / Re:Group – Asbestos (Remix) / Left

This remastered reissue from the Infrastructure NY archives is one that captures the exact start of Function's involvement in the Sandwell District project. It was recorded while he was over in Berlin for a gig and the rest is history. Regis's 'Asbestos' (Sleeparchive remix) is the sort of pulsating, supple, rubbery minimal techno that takes you down a deep dark rabbit hole at 5am and you never want to leave. Re:Group's 'Left' on the flipside is more textured and rides on a broken beat with twitchy synths and dystopian futuristic energy running all through it. Classic techno that still sounds fresh.
