The Trip – Clubdance2025

Summer crashes down around us with The Trip's 'Clubdance2025'. The UK house duo of Max van Dijk and Oliver Hiam, this is their first solo release of the year on Tessellate. The 90s and 00s house playbook may be ragged and well-worn, but its impartations prove robust, as here, where distinct zones of organ and vox transcend mere piano house; first glances and listens might lead one to think this a real relic of the 90s, but it is in fact a loving replica. Recorded and mixed in London, it carries on The Trip's exploration of timeless house textures while nodding to their earlier self-named Tessellate releases (the label name is a namesake of the equally nostalgic and brilliant 'Spiritually Tessellate').
