Red Axes – Up EP

Red Axes carved out their own little musical world when they emerged with a psyched out blend of real guitars and twisted synths all married to analogue house and techno drums. They had built up a fine collection of those sounds on top labels and here they find themselves on Shall Not Fade with their Up EP. It's the title jam that opens up with some bendy acid infused lines lazily running through some percussive beats. 'Casi O' is a more raw percussive clatter and mechanical work out and 'Boss' gets all twitchy, futurist and brain melting. 'Saturday Night' shuts down with some brilliantly pinging kicks and twanging synths that sound like twisted metal.
