Nico Lahs – Holy Day

Nico Lahs continues to gift us with some of the finest contemporary deep house in circulation, and he's clearly on a roll as he delivers his fourth EP of the year so far for Undaground Therapy Muzik. 'Bossa Rhythm' unsurprisingly features a strong Latin influence in its drums, while 'Holy Day' equally spirals out in a smudged, celestial celebration of spiritual jazz licks and dusty, psychedelic soul. There's a more grounded rhythm section driving 'Moonlight' but never at the expense of the vibe, which remains transcendent and sincere as we float away on the blissful loops and dirty drums of 'Sunday Morning'.
