Unknown – MCLTD6

Seven years into the shadowy MCLTD label's musical story, it's becoming increasingly hard to pinpoint what they do - musically at least. The series has become increasingly eclectic, though every track offered up remains either a re-edit, remix or mash-up. To begin volume six, we get Viejo Loco's 'reconstruction' of 'Crooked', a pleasingly loose and bass-heavy chunky of weighty and punchy house-not-house that makes merry with a familiar rap vocal and wonky tech-house electronics. Bruno steps up next, re-editing a heavy electro edit of a much-loved Snoop/Pharrell classic from the mid 2000s. Over on the flip, Loco re-wires an early INXS party-starter beloved of hip-hop DJs and electrofunk types, before serving up 'Chief-ter', a throbbing and hustling breaks-meet-house workout underpinned by seriously warped bass.
