Olivier Romero – Past Present Future EP

French up-and-comer makes a strong blend of dancefloor cuts on his eighth EP, a four-track ride filled with personality and dancefloor punch. The A-side opens with 'The Past Future' a cheeky, sample-driven stomper with playful energy and a sharp, bouncing groove, before its remix by Reflex Blue strips things back, trading in lush detail for a dubby feel that still keeps the fun intact. The B-side gets weirder and deeper. 'Trip' leans into tech-house psychedelia, where a mellow melody snakes through a chilled but affective and addictive rhythm. 'That's The Future' is also a hidden B-sider with a lot of charm. Across the four tracks, there's a real ear for structure and texture with grooves that evolve without overcomplicating matters from a producer with confidence and versatility.
